Summary:
Catalysis and preservation of the environment: a vision of the Argentine future with a global perspective
Argentina, Brazil and the US are among the biggest producers of non-edible biomass of the world. Its use to produce liquid fuels, energy and basic and intermediate chemicals substitutes obtained from fossil sources is necessary to significantly improve environmental quality. In this presentation an overview of the current state of development of the "bio-refinery" in the world with particular emphasis on the above American countries pointing out the opportunities presented for chemical engineers in both process engineering and development of new catalysts..
