Summary:
The perspective of human and organizational factors has extensive experience in security field. Indeed, his appearance was generated and enhanced by the huge incidence of accidents linked to human behavior and organizational management, which seriously affect the viability and sustainability of production systems. However, despite the great progress in this area, certain methodologies applied to human error reduction seem to shed more confusion that clarification.
This phenomenon is often evidenced by the tendency of organizations to reduce the causes of accidents to a "lack of attention" a "overconfidence" or a "unsafe attitude", generating from these findings little effective preventive actions , which result in new adverse events.
Experience in ultra safe industries (such as aviation, nuclear and petrochemical) indicates that to achieve safe behavior is necessary, while working with front-line operators, perform a real analysis of contextual and organizational variables (management) causing the behavior. Thus the aim of this conference is to give participants the core elements of human and organizational factors approach to risk management and the main lines of action in this matter.
